Privacy Policy
Version: 0.1
Effective date: 2/20/2026
Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Ember Tables (“Ember Tables,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and discloses information when you use our website, APIs, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
This policy is part of the Policies incorporated into the Terms of Service.
Information We Collect
Account and identity data: If you create an account, we collect account identifiers such as your user ID and authentication-linked email address.
Gameplay and product data: We store published game configurations, match/replay records, favorites, recently visited games, keybind settings, render settings, and cosmetic settings needed to operate Service features.
Legal acceptance records: When policy acceptance is required (for example, for publish flows), we store policy slug/version/content hash, acceptance timestamp, and acceptance context.
Telemetry and diagnostics: We collect event-level service telemetry (for example session creation, invite copy, and seat/match lifecycle events) to operate and improve the Service.
Network and device metadata: We may process IP address and user-agent metadata for security, abuse prevention, and integrity controls. In certain ledgers we store hashed forms of this metadata.
Local browser storage: We store local values such as anonymous ID, locale preference, guest-mode preferences, and editor/runtime convenience caches in your browser.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies to operate authentication/session flows, remember preferences, provide security controls, and measure service reliability.
When enabled, these technologies may include browser storage values and service cookies used by infrastructure providers such as Supabase and Cloudflare.
Advertising and Privacy Choices
Ember Tables may use Google AdSense for advertising on selected pages when ad serving is enabled.
When ad serving is enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies for ad delivery, measurement, and personalization where permitted by law.
You can manage your ad personalization choice at `/privacy-choices`. We include California "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" controls there.
How We Use Information
We use information to provide and maintain core features, including gameplay, publishing, forking/remixing, account functions, personalization, and preferences.
We use information for security, fraud/abuse prevention, reliability, debugging, and enforcement of our Terms and Policies.
We use aggregated and event-level analytics to understand service health and product usage patterns.
How We Disclose Information
Service providers: We disclose information to vendors and infrastructure providers that process data on our behalf to operate the Service (for example hosting, database, and edge/network providers).
Public and user-visible surfaces: Published game configurations are intended for discovery, play, and on-platform forking/remixing under applicable platform policies.
Legal and safety disclosures: We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce terms, investigate abuse, or protect users and the Service.
Business transfers: We may transfer information as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, financing, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.
Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Service, satisfy legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain security and integrity.
Some datasets are append-only by design for auditability (for example policy acceptance ledgers). Some operational datasets are pruned under retention schedules.
Local browser storage remains on your device until you clear it, overwrite it, or remove it through product controls.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.
No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and users under 13 may not use the Service.
If we become aware that we collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate authorization, we will take steps to delete that information as required by law.
Your Choices and Rights
You may control certain information through account settings and in-product controls (for example preference settings and local browser data controls).
You may control ad personalization preferences for the current browser/device at `/privacy-choices`.
You may request access, correction, or deletion rights where provided by applicable law by contacting us at contact@embertables.com.
You can clear local browser storage in your browser settings, which may remove guest-mode preferences and cached state.
International Processing
We and our service providers may process information in jurisdictions outside your state, province, or country. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations, subject to applicable law.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may provide additional notice and, where required, request renewed acceptance before continued use of certain features.
The current version and effective date are shown on the legal policy page.
